Iconic real estate is often a big part of a location's cultural significance. We did the research and found 5 iconic homes in and around Tulsa. Our list ranges from celebrities to staples of Tulsa History! 



Tulsa Outsiders House: 

The famous home of the Curtis brothers from the book/movie The Outsiders is now restored as a museum! This home was always a private residence except for its filming of the movie. It wasn’t until long time fan and hip hop artist Danny Boy O’Connor purchased the home for $15,000 in 2016 that it became open to the public in 2019 after major restoration. Because of his efforts, fans can now visit the home!

Trisha Yearwood’s Owasso Rental: 

Originally this luxe mansion was mistakenly reported as country legends Garth Brooks’ and Trisha Yearwoods’ new Oklahoma home. However, Trisha Yearwood tweeted that the home was actually rented and used to film the first few seasons of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen on the Food Network.

Frank Lloyd Wright Westhope Mansion: 

Coming in at a whopping 10,400 square feet, the Westhope mansion was designed by the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright for his cousin Richard Lloyd. This spectacular piece of design history sits at South Birmingham Avenue. Zillow records show the home was listed for 7 million in 2023 to be pulled off the market in 2024. At this time, it is unknown whether the home will hit the market again anytime soon.

Hanson Brothers’ Home:

 

The famous pop/rock trio best known for their song “MMMbop”, grew up in Tulsa reportedly after reaching success from their album sales. Located near 221st Street South and Harvard, the home was listed for auction in 2011. The home features a built-in recording studio.

Tulsa’s Oldest Home: 

Last but not least let’s end the list with a historic staple! This is Tulsa’s oldest home that’s still in existence. Built in the early 1880’s this home has made its way into National Landmark territory. The sign reads, “Typical house of early 1880's. Originally built on acreage. 400 North Cheyenne was parsonage home of Rev Sylvester Morris Tulsa Indian Territory Methodist minister (1836-1907)”
