Tulsa can be very hot in the summer and the best way to cool off is usually in water! Popular pools can be crowded and sometimes we just need a different change of pace for us to explore. Check out our affordable suggestions for off-the-beaten path ways to enjoy the outdoors and beat the heat!
Located in Salina, Blue Hole Park is just an hour outside of Tulsa. Enjoy clear, shallow water perfect for families and a concession stand when hunger arises. If you want to stay a bit longer, camp sites are available.
Flint Creek Waterpark is also conveniently located only an hour outside of Tulsa and welcomes picnics, tents, and more. The water is shallow for kids to play in and has cold running water through it. Be mindful, as no life guard is on duty.
This sandy beach is ideal for play and welcomes camping. Bring the beach toys, lounge chair and swim in the cool waters of Keystone Lake.
Although splash pads are common in neighborhood parks, this splash pad is more like a water park! With three water slides, parents can feel safe knowing their kids can enjoy all the park has to offer without any swimming knowledge. Note the park is closed every Monday and is $1 to enter, accepting cash only.
